It is an honour to have been selected as a juror by the Awards committee for the 2017 NSW Architecture Awards for Residential Architecture - Houses (New) and Houses (Alterations & Additions).

Following its 2016 AIA Architecture Award for Residential Architecture-Houses, Unfurled House has been featured in a snippet entitled “Architecture Shorts” in Grand Designs Australia magazine Issue 061.

Christopher Polly was invited by Green magazine editor Tamsin O’Neill to write a piece on a favourite, inspiring example of residential architecture. The Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut is the seminal mid-century house designed by Philip Johnson in 1949, considered one of the great works of modern architecture. It’s gratifying to see that Unfurled House has been incorporated in the NSW Planning & Environment ‘Draft Medium Density Design Guide’ as a design standard exemplar for private open space.

It’s very exciting to share that Unfurled House has been shortlisted for yet another award - this time as a finalist in the 2016 Sustainability Awards, Single Dwelling (Alterations & Additions) category.

Christopher Polly presented Unfurled House as part of an ‘Architecture on Show’ talk curated by Sam Rigoli, Michael Zanardo and Casey Bryant. As the recipient of the 2016 Marrickville Medal, the talk focused on the crafted design response of the project which added a new dimension, enhanced function, and gave fresh appeal to the fabric of the original house in its setting.

It’s exciting to share that Unfurled House has been shortlisted for another award - this time as a national finalist in the 2016 IDEA Interior Design Excellence Awards, ‘Residential Single’ category.

A series of sketch design concepts have been prepared for a new lightweight-framed house in Lilyfield. It accommodates an arrangement of expansive living, dining and kitchen spaces, with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for a young family.
